šŸ“¢ FastAPI Conf, the first ever official FastAPI conference, and FastAPI Cloud

Issue #4, FastAPI Conf, the first ever official FastAPI conference, and FastAPI Cloud

Long time no newsletter! šŸ‘‹

At some point you subscribed the the infrequent FastAPI and friends newsletter.

…I bet you didn’t expect it to be so infrequent. šŸ˜…

I have so many things to tell you!

Instead of sending a long rant here with everything new, I’ll give you a couple of top highlights.

And in the next ones I’ll send you some more additional recent news, I promise.

šŸ“¢ FastAPI Conf - the first ever official FastAPI conference

For years people have been asking for an official FastAPI conference, and now it’s finally happening!

FastAPI Conf - lineup

FastAPI Conf will bring together the FastAPI community, with great talks and a space for you to connect with everyone.

We made a 10% discount code exclusive for the newsletter subscribers.

Please don’t share it outside. 🤫

You can find more details about the conference (and the tickets) on the FastAPI Conf website.

We’ll see you in Amsterdam on October 28th!

ā˜ļø FastAPI Cloud

I started a company! In case you didn’t know yet.

FastAPI Cloud is the official way to deploy and manage FastAPI applications in the cloud.

You can of course keep deploying to any other cloud provider as always.

FastAPI and friends keep being open source, and now more alive than ever, with funding for continued development and support by a team behind them.

You can read more about it here in the announcement blog post: FastAPI Cloud - By The Same Team Behind FastAPI.

You can also simply try it right away, it’s just one command:

fastapi deploy

I always wanted to be able to deploy FastAPI apps in a way as simple and easy as building with FastAPI itself. Now I can finally say we have it.

You code. We cloud.

You can find more details on the website: FastAPI Cloud.

The Newsletter

It took me so long to come back!

The old newsletter system was a bit error prone and difficult to manage, that was one of the factors that contributed to the lack of regular updates. šŸ˜… And at some point it plainly stopped working.

Now, I just went and built it from scratch, the source for the newsletter content is just plain Markdown, the system is based on FastAPI, deployed to FastAPI Cloud, everything is much more straightforward.

And all made thinking about a developer (me) writing for other developers. It should be much simpler now to send more regular updates as it was intended!

I might open source the entire system if it seems useful to others. Let me know!

Open Source

I have too many open source news, in FastAPI, Typer, SQLModel, the full-stack-fastapi-template, but if I wrote all that you wouldn’t finish reading this email, so I’ll keep those for the next one.

AI Disclaimer

No AI was used for this newsletter. I wanted to write everything by hand. If you see typos or things that could have been structured better, or you are lacking load-bearing em dashes, I’m sorry, that’s on me, written by hand, in my voice (text), as I wanted.

Thank You

Thanks for being around and supporting the FastAPI ecosystem since the beginning!

It is genuinely appreciated.

See you soon. Here’s a coffee. ā˜•ļø
